Hungarian Cottage Cheese Noodles (Túrós Csusza)

Ingredients

  • 400g egg noodles
  • 250g cottage cheese
  • 200g sour cream
  • 100g bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  4. Reduce the heat and add the cooked noodles, cottage cheese, and sour cream to the skillet. Stir well to combine and heat through.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the Túrós Csusza hot, topped with the crispy bacon.
