Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef, cubed
  • 2 onions, chopped

  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp hot paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  3. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides.
  4. Stir in the caraway seeds, sweet paprika, and hot paprika.
  5. Add the beef broth, bay leaves, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer for 1 hour, then add the potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and tomatoes.
  7. Cook for an additional 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beef and vegetables are tender.
  8. Adjust the seasoning if needed, then remove the bay leaves before serving.
