Hungarian Lángos Lovers (Lángos)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
  4. Once the dough has risen, divide it into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a flat round shape.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep pot or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Gently place the rolled-out dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  8. Remove the lángos from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  9. Top the lángos with garlic, sour cream, and cheese, or any other desired toppings.
  10. Serve the lángos hot and enjoy!
