Ingredients

  • 2 cups walnuts, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the walnuts, sugar, flour, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with the vanilla extract, melted butter, and milk. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
