Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups ground walnuts
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and milk. Gradually add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half. Roll each half into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ground walnuts, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the filling.
- Spread the walnut filling evenly over the dough rectangles.
- Roll up each rectangle jelly-roll style, starting from a long side. Place the rolls seam side down on a baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the rolls to cool before slicing and serving.
