Ingredients

  • 6 large green chilies
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Slit the green chilies lengthwise, remove the seeds, and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, and salt. Add water gradually to make a smooth batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Dip each chili in the batter, making sure it's well coated, and carefully drop it into the hot oil.
  5. Fry until the bajjis are golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
