Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork ribs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tbsp water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the pork ribs until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant.
  3. Add the bell peppers and stir-fry for a few minutes.
  4. Return the pork ribs to the pan.
  5. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, vinegar, and tomato ketchup. Pour over the pork ribs.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, then cover and simmer for 1 hour or until the pork is tender.
  7. Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce.
  8. Serve the Iga Babi Asam Manis hot with steamed rice.
