Ingredients

  • 500g fish fillets
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4-5 okra, halved
  • 3-4 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
  • 3 tablespoons tamarind paste
  • 1 tablespoon palm sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine water, tamarind paste, palm sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the lemongrass, onion, and tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the fish fillets and okra. Cook for another 15-20 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
  4. Add green chilies and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
