Ingredients
- 4 whole fish (such as snapper or sea bass)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Clean and gut the fish, then make 3 diagonal cuts on each side of the fish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, paprika, salt, and olive oil to create a marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the fish, including inside the cuts. Let the fish marinate for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the marinated fish on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has grill marks.
- Remove the grilled fish from the heat and garnish with sliced lemon and fresh cilantro.
- Serve the Ikan Bakar Ala Arab hot with steamed rice or Arabic bread.
