Ingredients
- 1 cup tamarind pulp
- 1 cup jaggery (or brown sugar)
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine tamarind pulp and water. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add jaggery, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes until the chutney thickens.
- Let the chutney cool, then strain it through a fine mesh sieve to remove any remaining pulp or seeds.
- Transfer the chutney to a clean, airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
