Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 5 shallots, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 red chilies, sliced
- 1-inch galangal, sliced
- 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 pre-made pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the beef, coconut milk, shallots, garlic, chilies, galangal, lemongrass, turmeric, coriander, cumin, tamarind paste, brown sugar, and salt. Cook over low heat for 2-3 hours until the beef is tender and the sauce is thick.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza pan or baking sheet.
- Spoon the beef rendang mixture over the pizza dough, spreading it out evenly. Top with mozzarella cheese and sliced red onion.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
- Slice the pizza and serve hot.
