Indonesian Chicken Tikka

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Indonesian sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, sweet soy sauce, tamarind paste, coriander, cumin, turmeric, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
