Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add diced carrots, bell pepper, and green peas, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Push the vegetables to the side of the pan, and crack the eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs until cooked.
  5. Add cooked rice to the pan, and stir to combine with the vegetables and eggs.
  6. Pour soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and chili paste over the rice, and stir well to evenly coat the rice.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and continue to stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot.
