Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) chicken, beef, or lamb, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped onion, minced garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, turmeric, soy sauce, brown sugar, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.
- Add the meat cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated meat onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the grilled skewers with a side of peanut sauce and steamed rice.
