Ingredients

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 teaspoon galangal powder
  • 1 teaspoon palm sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the shredded jackfruit, coconut milk, vegetable broth, shallots, garlic, bay leaves, coriander powder, galangal powder, palm sugar, and salt.
  2. Add enough water to cover the ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the jackfruit is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve the Gudeg Gourmet hot with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.
