Indonesian Keema Curry

Ingredients

  • 500g minced meat
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
  3. Add minced meat and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in curry powder, turmeric, cumin, and coriander. Cook for 2 minutes to toast the spices.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  6. Pour in coconut milk and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
