Indonesian Nasi Goreng with Prawns (Nasi Goreng Indonésien aux Crevettes)
Nasi Goreng Indonésien aux Crevettes is a delicious Indonesian fried rice dish with prawns that is full of flavor and perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 200g prawns, peeled and deveined
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon shrimp paste (terasi)
- 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the beaten eggs and scramble until cooked. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the wok and sauté the onion, garlic, and chilies until fragrant.
- Add the prawns and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- Stir in the rice, sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, shrimp paste, tamarind paste, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the scrambled eggs back into the wok and toss everything together until heated through.
- Transfer the Nasi Goreng to serving plates and serve hot.
