Irresistible Hyderabadi Chicken Korma
Hyderabadi Chicken Korma is a rich and flavorful dish from the royal kitchens of Hyderabad, India. This creamy and aromatic curry is made with tender chicken cooked in a blend of spices, nuts, and yogurt, resulting in a dish that is truly irresistible.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup fried onions
- 1/2 cup cashew nuts
- 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine yogurt, fried onions, cashew nuts, and desiccated coconut. Blend into a smooth paste.
- Heat ghee in a large pot. Add cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, and cumin seeds. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
- Pour in the yogurt and nut paste. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the gravy is thick.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
