Japchae Bap (잡채밥)
잡채밥 (Japchae Bap) is a popular Korean dish made with stir-fried glass noodles, vegetables, and sometimes beef, all mixed with a savory soy sauce-based seasoning. It's a delicious and colorful dish that is perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 200g Korean glass noodles
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup sliced onions
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup spinach
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced beef (optional)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Soak the glass noodles in hot water for 15 minutes, then drain and cut into shorter lengths.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper to make the seasoning sauce.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and stir-fry the beef (if using) until cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, stir-fry the garlic, onions, carrots, bell peppers, and mushrooms until tender.
- Add the glass noodles, spinach, and the seasoning sauce to the skillet. Stir-fry until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
