Jeera Rice Temptation

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the basmati rice under running water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and sauté for 1-2 minutes until they release their aroma.
  3. Add the washed rice to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Pour in the water and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
