Jeera Rice Temptation is a classic North Indian dish that features aromatic basmati rice flavored with cumin seeds. This simple yet flavorful dish is a perfect accompaniment to a variety of Indian curries and gravies.
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash the basmati rice under running water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.
- Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and sauté for 1-2 minutes until they release their aroma.
- Add the washed rice to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour in the water and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
