Jerk Pork
Jerk pork is a flavorful and spicy dish that originates from Jamaican cuisine. The pork is marinated in a mixture of spices and then cooked to perfection, resulting in a delicious and aromatic meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into chunks
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp thyme, dried
- 1 tbsp allspice, ground
- 1 tsp cinnamon, ground
- 1 tsp nutmeg, ground
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, green onions, garlic, thyme, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the pork chunks to the bowl and toss to coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork chunks and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- Remove from heat and let the pork rest for a few minutes before serving.
