Jeyuk Bokkeum (제육볶음)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork belly, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Korean red chili pepper paste (gochujang)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
  2. Add the pork slices to the marinade and mix well to coat the meat. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the marinated pork to the skillet and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
  5. Add the sliced onion and green onions to the skillet and continue to stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  6. Transfer the jeyuk bokkeum to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
