Ingredients
- 500g lamb, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
- Add water as needed and simmer until the lamb is tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
