Jiao Hua Xia (beggar's Shrimp)
Jiao Hua Xia, also known as Beggar's Shrimp, is a popular dish in Zhejiang Cuisine. This dish features tender shrimp coated in a flavorful sauce, making it a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- Pour the sauce over the shrimp and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve hot.
