Jiaozi (shandong Steamed Dumplings)
Jiaozi, also known as Shandong Steamed Dumplings, are a popular dish in Shandong Cuisine. These dumplings are filled with a savory mixture of meat and vegetables, and then steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 cups finely chopped Napa cabbage
- 3 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, Napa cabbage, green onions, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal the dumplings.
- Place the dumplings in a steamer lined with cabbage leaves or parchment paper. Steam for 15 minutes until the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the Jiaozi hot with dipping sauce.
