Jjamppong (짬뽕) Stir-fried Noodles
Jjamppong (짬뽕) is a popular Korean Chinese cuisine dish known for its spicy and savory flavors. This stir-fried noodle dish is loaded with seafood and vegetables, making it a hearty and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. fresh Korean-style wheat noodles
- 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 small clams, scrubbed
- 4 oz. squid, cleaned and sliced
- 4 oz. mussels, cleaned
- 4 oz. pork belly, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup cabbage, chopped
- 4 cups chicken stock
- 3 tbsp Korean red chili paste (gochujang)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the pork belly and cook until lightly browned.
- Add the onion, cabbage, and minced garlic. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Pour in the chicken stock and bring it to a boil. Add the Korean red chili paste, soy sauce, sugar, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Add the noodles, shrimp, clams, squid, and mussels. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the seafood is cooked through and the noodles are tender.
- Divide the jjamppong into serving bowls and serve hot.
