Ingredients
- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 cup rice
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups tomato juice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Instructions
- Boil the whole head of cabbage in a large pot of water for 5 minutes. Remove from water and let it cool. Carefully peel off the leaves without tearing them.
- In a bowl, mix the rice, ground beef, onion, allspice, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides as you roll.
- Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a large pot. Pour the tomato juice, chicken broth, and lemon juice over the rolls.
- Cover the pot and cook over medium heat for 1 hour.
- Serve the stuffed cabbage rolls hot with a side of yogurt or a fresh salad.
