Kabab Bil Laban (grilled Spiced Lamb Skewers With Yogurt Mint Sauce)
Kabab Bil Laban is a traditional Qatari dish consisting of grilled spiced lamb skewers served with a refreshing yogurt mint sauce. This dish is perfect for a summer barbecue or a special family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lamb, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the cubed lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the lamb is marinating, prepare the yogurt mint sauce by mixing the plain yogurt, chopped mint, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Thread the marinated lamb onto skewers and grill over medium-high heat for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Serve the grilled lamb skewers with the yogurt mint sauce on the side.
