Kabab Hindi (grilled Spiced Lamb Skewers With Mint Chutney)
Kabab Hindi is a popular Qatari dish consisting of grilled spiced lamb skewers served with a refreshing mint chutney. This flavorful and aromatic dish is perfect for a special occasion or a weekend barbecue.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 8 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
- Thread the marinated lamb onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Meanwhile, prepare the mint chutney by blending the mint leaves, cilantro, green chili, yogurt, lemon juice, and salt in a food processor until smooth.
- Serve the grilled lamb skewers with the mint chutney on the side.
