Ingredients

  • 2 lbs goat meat, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups pikliz (spicy cabbage slaw)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 scotch bonnet pepper, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, marinate the goat meat with garlic, onion, scotch bonnet pepper, lime juice, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the marinated goat meat and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add enough water to cover the goat meat, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours or until the meat is tender.
  4. Serve the fried goat with pikliz on the side.
