Kacamak is a traditional Montenegrin dish made with polenta and cheese, often served as a comforting and hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup crumbled cheese (feta or similar)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water and milk to a boil.
- Gradually whisk in the cornmeal, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the crumbled cheese until melted and well combined.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
