Kacchi Dabeli (कच्ची दाबेली)
कच्ची दाबेली (Kacchi Dabeli) is a popular street food from the state of Maharashtra, India. It is a spicy, sweet, and tangy snack that is perfect for a quick bite or as an appetizer for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 pav (Indian dinner rolls)
- 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely ground
- 1/4 cup dabeli masala
- 1/4 cup tamarind-date chutney
- 1/4 cup garlic chutney
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/2 cup nylon sev (crunchy chickpea noodles)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add the mashed potatoes along with dabeli masala and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Slit the pav horizontally without cutting through and toast on a tawa with some butter.
- Spread garlic chutney on one side and tamarind-date chutney on the other side of the pav.
- Place a portion of the potato mixture on the pav and top it with chopped onions, pomegranate seeds, and ground peanuts.
- Sprinkle nylon sev on top and press the pav gently.
- Repeat with the remaining pav and serve hot.
