Kacho (marshallese Style Beef And Broccoli Stir-fry)
Kacho is a traditional Marshallese dish that features tender beef and crisp broccoli stir-fried in a savory sauce. This flavorful and satisfying dish is a staple in Marshallese cuisine and is perfect for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, water, and cornstarch to make the sauce. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Return the beef to the skillet, pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the Kacho hot over steamed rice.
