Kaesong Bulgogi (개성 불고기)
Kaesong Bulgogi is a traditional North Korean dish known for its sweet and savory flavors. This dish is made with thinly sliced beef marinated in a delicious blend of soy sauce, garlic, and pear puree.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup pear puree
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, pear puree, garlic, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, making sure it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Heat a stovetop grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and sliced onions, and cook for 3-4 minutes until the beef is cooked through.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
