Kairi Panha (कैरी पान्हा)
कैरी पान्हा (Kairi Panha) is a traditional Maharashtrian raw mango drink that is not only refreshing but also has a unique tangy flavor. It is a perfect summer cooler and is often enjoyed as a welcome drink during gatherings and festivals.
Ingredients
- 2 medium raw mangoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup jaggery
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp black salt
- 4 cups water
- Ice cubes for serving
Instructions
- In a pan, combine the chopped raw mangoes, jaggery, and water. Bring it to a boil and then simmer for 5 minutes until the raw mangoes are soft.
- Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, blend the mixture to a smooth puree.
- Add roasted cumin powder and black salt to the puree and mix well.
- Strain the mixture to remove any fibers or chunks.
- Refrigerate the strained mixture for at least 2 hours.
- Serve the chilled Kairi Panha in glasses with ice cubes.
