Kakaruk (tuna And Coconut Milk Soup)
Kakaruk is a traditional Marshallese soup made with tuna and coconut milk. It's a comforting and flavorful dish that is perfect for a cozy meal at home.
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna, drained
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can of coconut milk
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Instructions
- In a pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the drained tuna and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the coconut milk and water. Stir to combine.
- Add the diced tomato and sliced green bell pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Season with fish sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
