Kanda Poha (कांदा पोहा)
कांदा पोहा (Kanda Poha) is a traditional Maharashtrian breakfast dish made with flattened rice, onions, and a few spices. It is a quick and easy recipe that is perfect for a delicious breakfast or snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups poha (flattened rice)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the poha in a colander under running water for a few seconds. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped green chilies and onions. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and mix well. Then, add the rinsed poha to the pan.
- Add salt to taste and mix everything gently. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
- Once the poha is heated through, add roasted peanuts and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
