Kande Pohe (कांदे पोहे)
कांदे पोहे (Kande Pohe) is a popular Maharashtrian breakfast dish made with flattened rice and onions. It is a quick and easy recipe that is full of flavor and perfect for a hearty breakfast or snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flattened rice (poha)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Rinse the flattened rice in a colander and set aside to drain.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and mix well. Then, add the drained flattened rice and salt. Mix gently to combine all the ingredients.
- Cover the pan and let the poha cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once the poha is cooked, turn off the heat and add the lemon juice. Mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
