Kane Rava Fry (spicy Squid Masala)

Ingredients

  • 500g squid, cleaned and cut into rings
  • 1 cup semolina (rava)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 3-4 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the squid with red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Next, add the tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  5. Add the marinated squid and cook for 5-7 minutes until the squid is tender.
  6. In a separate pan, dry roast the semolina until it turns golden brown.
  7. Coat the cooked squid with the roasted semolina and shallow fry until crispy and golden on both sides.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
