Kangaroo Sausage Rolls (袋鼠肉香肠卷)

Ingredients

  • 500g kangaroo mince
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the kangaroo mince, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, ground ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Cut each puff pastry sheet in half to make 8 rectangles.
  4. Divide the kangaroo mixture into 4 portions and shape each portion into a long sausage shape along the length of each pastry rectangle.
  5. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg, then roll the pastry around the kangaroo mixture, sealing the edges.
  6. Cut each roll into 3 smaller rolls and place them on a lined baking tray, seam side down.
  7. Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the filling is cooked through.
  9. Allow the kangaroo sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
