Ingredients

  • 300g water spinach, washed and cut into 2-inch lengths
  • 250g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 tsp shrimp paste (balacan)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sliced red chilies, and stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Add shrimp paste (balacan) and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
