Kanpur Ki Murg Makhani (कानपुर की मुर्ग़ मक्खनी)
कानपुर की मुर्ग़ मक्खनी (Kanpur Ki Murg Makhani) is a classic dish from the Uttar Pradesh Cuisine, known for its rich and creamy tomato-based gravy with tender pieces of chicken.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1/2 cup cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces in yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated chicken. Cook until the chicken is tender and the yogurt is absorbed.
- In another pan, melt butter and add the tomato puree. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked chicken to the tomato puree and mix well.
- Add garam masala and cream. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
