Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cleaned and skin removed
- 2 cups yogurt
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 4 tomatoes, pureed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 1/4 cup ghee
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a large pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the garlic and ginger, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato puree and cook until the ghee separates.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook on low heat for 30 minutes, turning occasionally.
- Sprinkle garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, and nutmeg powder. Cook for another 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
