Ingredients
- 1 whole duck, about 4 lbs
- 1 lb taro, peeled and cut into chunks
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp rice wine
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp five-spice powder
- 4 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Prick the duck skin with a fork and rub with salt and pepper.
- Place the duck on a roasting rack and roast for 1.5 hours, until golden and crispy.
- In a large pot, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice wine, sugar, and five-spice powder.
- Add the roasted duck, taro, and chicken broth to the pot.
- Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, until the duck is tender and the taro is cooked through.
- Transfer the duck and taro to a serving platter and spoon the sauce over the top.
