Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into chunks
  • For the marinade:
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For serving:
  • Flatbread or naan
  • Sliced cucumbers and tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, vegetable oil, cumin powder, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to make the marinade.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Thread the marinated beef, onion, and bell peppers onto skewers.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
  5. Serve the kaorou skewers with flatbread or naan, and sliced cucumbers and tomatoes.
