Kapampangan Beef Jerky (pindang Damulag)

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, and chili flakes.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, making sure it is fully coated. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the oven to 175°F (80°C).
  4. Place the marinated beef slices on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to catch any drips.
  5. Bake the beef in the preheated oven for 4 hours, or until dry and chewy.
