Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup calamansi juice
- 1 large onion, sliced into rings
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, calamansi juice, garlic, and ground black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the beef slices to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- In a pan over medium heat, heat the cooking oil. Sauté the onion rings until they are soft and caramelized. Remove the onions from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, sear the marinated beef slices for about 3 minutes on each side or until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- Pour the remaining marinade into the pan and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens into a sauce.
- Return the beef slices and caramelized onions to the pan. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Transfer the Kapampangan Beef Steak to a serving platter and serve hot with steamed rice.
