Kasha Kreation
Kasha Kreation is a traditional Ukrainian dish made with buckwheat, onions, and seasonings. This hearty and flavorful dish is perfect for a cozy family dinner or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups buckwheat groats
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the buckwheat groats under cold water and drain.
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the buckwheat groats to the pot and toast for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour in the water and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the buckwheat is tender.
- Fluff the kasha with a fork and serve hot.
