Kashmiri Paneer Tikka (कश्मीरी पनीर टिक्का)

Ingredients

  • 500g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup thick yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • Chaat masala for sprinkling
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, fennel seeds, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, salt, and lemon juice to make the marinade.
  2. Add the paneer cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Let it marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated paneer, onion, and bell pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer and vegetables are charred and cooked through.
  4. Sprinkle chaat masala on the cooked paneer tikka and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  5. Serve hot with mint chutney and onion rings.
