Katta Sambol Beef (spicy Sri Lankan Deviled Beef)

Ingredients

  • 500g beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 3-4 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the sliced onion, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
  4. Return the beef to the pan. Add the chili powder, black pepper, soy sauce, vinegar, and salt. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the beef is well coated with the spices.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot.
